is a painter who pays homage to poetry and a writer who seeks refuge in painting. She received her B. A in Studio Art from Bard College in the US in 2012. Since 2015 she has been learning Sanskrit at various institutions such as Kyoto University in Japan and University of Hamburg in Germany. In 2018, she received her MFA in Fine Art at University of Oxford, where she deepened her research in Classical Indology and translated the ancient Indian treatise on painting “Citrasūtra” under the tutelage of Spalding Professor Diwakar Acharya. After graduation she worked at the Ashmolean Museum and the British Museum. Since 2020, Mengyun Han is a contributing writer to Hyperallergic NY. Both her painting and writing practices speak from a cross-cultural perspective. Han is currently based in London.
